Colon Rectal Cancer Illustrations

Paul Pridgeon, Medical Illustrator for the Pridgeon Design Group, created a series of illustrations for Health Dialog for a program on the treatment for Colon Rectal Cancer.  There are two illustrations from the series shown here. Screening for CRC is important and one test is the fecal occult blood test, a lab test used to check stool samples for hidden (occult) blood. Colonoscopy can reveal polyps. Most polyps can be completely removed during the procedure. Various removal techniques are available; most involve removing them with a wire loop biopsy.
